As of December 31, there is no electricity shortage in the Ukrainian energy system; there are four thermal power plant units in reserve; exports to Moldova are planned at night.

As Ukrinform reports, the Ministry of Energy reported this in a Telegram.

“There are four units of thermal power plants in reserve, which can be put into operation if necessary. The energy system is balanced. The situation is controlled. Power outage schedules are not applied,” the department noted.

In the Donetsk region, according to the ministry, power engineers have partially repaired a thermal power plant, which the day before was massively shelled by Russian troops.

Due to an enemy attack on the frontline thermal power plant, the 110 kV overhead line was damaged. The power engineering team repairing it came under fire. There were no casualties.

In the Chernihiv region, enemy shelling damaged the 10 kV overhead power lines of regional power companies, which led to the simultaneous disconnection of more than 3,800 consumers in nine settlements.

Electricity imports are planned in the amount of 11,600 MW/hour.

As Ukrinform reported, eight regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv suffered problems with electricity and gas supply due to hostilities and technological violations.
