We are talking only about certain abnormal transactions.
National Bank is currently working on preparing a bill to limit card transfers. However, they will concern only a small share of non-cash transactions of citizens.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Daniil Getmantsev said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“Representatives of the National Bank expressed this position during a report at a meeting of our committee. Now they are preparing a bill with relevant proposals. But they must understand what we are talking about. The restrictions will not apply to 99% of non-cash transactions that are carried out by each of us every day. This is “only about certain anomalous transactions used by drug dealers, illegal alcohol and tobacco dealers, as well as representatives of the illegal gambling business to carry out illegal activities. These are large criminal “businesses” trying to attract many individuals to their schemes,” he said.
This in no way means that a person cannot use the services of banks, Getmantsev is convinced.
“If he explains where these funds come from and for what, then the account will be unblocked, there will be no questions for the person it won’t,” he added.
Earlier, Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Ekaterina Rozhkova said that the National Bank is working on restrictions on card transfers. And they will concern businesses and individuals.
We would like to remind you that in the banking sector there are already restrictions due to the requirements of the legislation on financial monitoring:
- transfers totaling more than 400 thousand hryvnia require banks to more carefully study the origin of the transferred funds,
- usually bank limits provide for the transfer of funds in the amount of up to 30 thousand hryvnia per transaction, and the total volume of transfers per client – up to 400 thousand hryvnia.
