So far, the economic situation in the country does not allow for an increase in payments.
Increasing the minimum wagein Ukraine, even by 100 UAH in 2025 will require 5.3 billion UAH from the budget, which makes a significant increase financially difficult.
This was stated by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Budget, Roksolana Podlasa, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to her, the subsistence minimum cannot be raised to the actual level, since many payments are tied to it, and social standards can be revised only if GDP grows.
One of the most important elements of the budget is the minimum wage. According to Podlasa, even a small increase, for example, by 100 hryvnias, can seriously hit the budget, requiring an additional 5.3 billion UAH.

She noted that an increase in the minimum wage by 1,000 hryvnias – to 9 thousand, will lead to additional budget expenses of more than 50 billion UAH.
“This is a significant financial burden, especially considering that the Ukrainian economy has not yet reached the level of recovery that would allow such expenses without risking financial stability,” she clarified.
Recall that the Ministry of Social Policy believes that the subsistence minimum is insufficient to cover human needs and proposes to replace it with basic social assistance. The new approach assumes that the amount of the benefit will depend on the composition of the family.
The minimum wage and the subsistence minimum remain at the level of December 2024.
