The debt for utility payments can be restructured for up to 60 months, depending on the amount of debt and the debtor's income.
The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine explained whether the subsidy will be reassigned if there are debts for housing and communal services.
A housing subsidy is state aid that has a targeted purpose, namely payment for consumed housing and communal services. The state provides it to the most vulnerable Ukrainians in order to reduce the burden on their family budget when paying for housing and communal services.
When a family, receiving a subsidy, accumulates debts for housing and communal services, it uses this instrument of support from the state for other purposes, the Ministry of Social Policy notes.
Therefore, one of the criteria for reassigning a housing subsidy is control over the payment discipline of recipients.
“That is, if you received a subsidy and you have debts for housing and communal services, the provision of the subsidy is terminated“, – the Ministry of Social Policy emphasized.
At the same time, the Ministry noted that a person can pay off the debt gradually. To do this, it is necessary to conclude debt restructuring agreements with utility providers.
If you pay the debt regularly and do not miss current payments, you can count on a subsidy. Then, when applying for a subsidy, you must attach a copy of the restructuring agreement with the service provider.
“The debt for utility payments can be restructured for up to 60 months, depending on the amount of debt and the debtor's income,” the Ministry of Social Policy summarized.
Recall that the government is introducing a new type of subsidy.
