The Pension Fund of Ukraine has no deficit in 2024.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine has published data on the average pension and the number of pensioners as of October 1, 2024. Pension growth is outpacing inflation.
This is stated in the Pension Fund of Ukraine data.
The average pension has increased by UAH 466.61 or 8.7% to UAH 5,851.86 since the beginning of the year.
Inflation in Ukraine since the beginning of 2024 was 6.5%.
The number of pensioners in Ukraine as of October 1, 2024 was 10,342,593 people. This is 173,944 people less than at the beginning of the year (10,516,537 people).
Increase in pensions
The main increase in pensions in Ukraine occurred at the beginning of the year, when pensions were indexed in Ukraine from March 1, 2024.
Pensions were indexed by 8% for:
- 9.5 million “civilian” pensioners who are assigned a pension on a general basis,
- 596 thousand pensioners of law enforcement agencies,
- 97.8 thousand people receiving a disability pension due to injury or illness as a result of the Chernobyl disaster.
Recall that Ukrainians can receive pension supplements. Some of them start automatically, while others will need to submit an application.
