How much work experience do you need to retire this year at 60, 63 or 65 years old.
In order to retire and receive it, Ukrainians aged 60, 63 or 65 must have a certain insurance record, the Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds.
Every year, the insurance record that gives the right to retire at 60 years old increases by year – in 2028 it will be 35 years.
What length of service is needed to retire in 2024 for Ukrainians who have turned 60, 63 or 65 years old
The following persons have the right to an old-age pension in 2024:
- Citizens who have reached the age of 60, with at least 31 years of insurance experience.
- Ukrainians who are 63 years old, with at least 21 years of insurance experience.
- Citizens who are 65 years old, with 15 to 21 years of insurance experience, can receive a pension.
How to apply for an old-age pension
To apply for a pension, you must submit an application for a pension and documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine. This can be done using the Pension Fund's electronic services web portal.
Documents to be provided:
- Passport of a citizen of Ukraine (or ID card).
- Registration number of the taxpayer's registration card.
- Documents confirming insurance experience (work record book, diploma of full-time study, military ID, etc.).
- Certificate of salary for any 60 consecutive months up to 30.06.2000 (optional).
- Bank account details (if the payment method through a bank is selected).
- Photograph for a pension certificate measuring 2.5 x 3 cm.
- Marriage certificate in case of a change of surname.
- Other documents.
An old-age pension is assigned based on an application from the day following the day of reaching retirement age, if the application was made no later than three months from the date of reaching such age.
If the insurance period is insufficient, it can be purchased at will through voluntary participation in the compulsory social insurance system.
