The European Commission has agreed to allocate 4.1 billion euros to Ukraine within the framework of the Ukraine Facility.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
“The European Commission has agreed to allocate EUR 4.1 billion to Ukraine within the Ukraine Facility. The EC gave a positive assessment of the reforms and noted that the government has met the necessary indicators to receive this tranche. We expect the EU Council to approve the decision as soon as possible. After that, the total amount of support within the Ukraine Facility for this year will amount to EUR 16.1 billion,” the head of government emphasized.
He thanked the EU for its unwavering support for Ukraine and also emphasized that, despite the full-scale war with Russia, Ukraine continues to reform and transform itself in order to move closer to Europe and become a full-fledged member of the EU.
What is Ukraine Facility
Ukraine Facility is a program of financial assistance to Ukraine from the European Union for EUR 50 billion in 2024-2027, which will be aimed at financing the Ukrainian state budget, stimulating investment, and providing technical support in the implementation of the program.
Recall that earlier the EU made an important decision on financial assistance to Ukraine. As reported in August 2024, 4.2 billion euros were provided as part of the first regular tranche of the Ukraine Facility program.
According to the report, these funds are intended not only to support macro-financial stability, but also to ensure the functioning of public administration in Ukraine.
