 PrivatBank comments on rumors about disclosure of banking secrecy due to cashback program

The financial institution assured that it will not disclose any client data that is not directly related to the Cashback program.

PrivatBank stated that the information that the institution transfers data only within the framework of the “National Cashback” program, and they are used exclusively for calculating and accruing cashback.

This is stated in the message of the bank's press service.

“We would like to assure you that our Bank operates exclusively within the limits defined by regulatory and legal acts, and the transferred data is used exclusively for calculating and accruing cashback,” the statement says.

In addition, PrivatBank stated that they care about the security of banking secrecy and personal data of all clients. The bank notes that the actions taken are strictly within the framework of the law.

At the same time, the bank noted that the law requires written permission to disclose banking secrecy from each user before opening a “National Cashback” account. Therefore, PrivatBank transmits information that concerns only expenses or returns of goods in stores registered as sellers of Ukrainian goods.

All transaction niches, according to the bank's press service, are not disclosed.

Recall that it was previously reported that Ukrainians will not be able to refuse to disclose banking secrecy, even if they close the “National Cashback” card.

In addition, we previously reported that Ukrainians, with the help of “Action”, submitted more than 4 million applications for the “Winter Support” program.
