What is known about the fate of citizens' deposits.
“Kominvestbank” has been classified as insolvent. This decision was made by the National Bank of Ukraine on December 5.
This was reported by the press service of the NBU.
It is known that the share of the institution JSC “Commercial Investment Bank” (Kominvestbank) as of November 1, 2024 on the market amounted to only 0.04% of all assets of solvent banks, so this decision will not affect the stability of the country's banking sector.
The decision on the bank's insolvency was made taking into account several signs:
- failure of the bank to comply with the requirements of legislation and regulatory legal acts of the NBU;
- continuation of risky activities after the bank was classified as problematic in August 2024;
- systematic submission of false information and reports to conceal the real financial situation;
- inaction of management and owners who did not take measures to avoid insolvency.
The NBU also recalled that on August 8, the bank was classified as problematic due to improper organization of the internal control and risk management system, insufficient income, and systematic submission of false information.
Since that time, the bank's operations have continued. There were no appropriate measures taken to correct the situation.
What will happen to citizens' deposits
According to the National Bank, each bank depositor will receive compensation in the full amount of their deposits, as well as accrued interest as of the end of the day preceding the start of the procedure for withdrawing the bank from the market.
How much will depositors receive
The total amount of possible payments to depositors is UAH 432 million, the NBU noted.
The volume of highly liquid assets of the bank as of December 4, 2024 amounted to UAH 890 million, which includes domestic government loan bonds (DGLB) and deposit certificates.
Recall that a financial expert told what the dollar exchange rate will be in December 2024. According to him, due to the high demand for currency in Ukraine, the NBU may lower the hryvnia exchange rate.
