The cost of the ingredients for making "Olivier" has increased by 20% in a year.
The increase in the cost of the traditional New Year's salad “Olivier”, according to experts' calculations, has increased by almost 20%.
This is stated in the material “24 Kanal”.
Thus, UCAB analyst Maxim Gopka reported that in 2024 the cost of the salad “Olivier” for 6 people will increase by 19%.
In 2024, the total cost of all ingredients for preparing the salad will be 300 hryvnia, while in 2023 it was 251.4 hryvnia. In particular, the consumer price index for components for the traditional New Year's salad has changed as follows:
- boiled sausage (350 grams) has risen in price by 29%, reaching a cost of 152 hryvnia against 118 hryvnia last year
- eggs (4 pieces) have become more expensive by 33%, the price has increased from 24 to 32 hryvnia this year
- pickled cucumbers (200 grams) have increased in price by 17%. Their price has increased to 35 hryvnia from 30 hryvnia.
Prices for some vegetables have also increased:
carrots (150 grams) have increased in price by 2.5 times — from 2 hryvnia to 5 hryvnia
potatoes (300 grams) — by half, from 5.4 hryvnia to 11 hryvnia.
However, some products have become cheaper. For example, the price of green peas in a jar has decreased by 23%, from 52 hryvnia to 40 hryvnia, and 200 grams of mayonnaise for salad dressing have fallen in price by 25%.
Earlier it was reported that during the full-scale war, prices for some products in Ukraine have almost doubled. A dozen eggs in supermarkets today cost an average of 78 UAH, butter – 110 UAH per pack, sour-milk cheese – 80 UAH per 300 grams.
After the New Year holidays, analysts expect a decrease in prices for some products that have risen in price due to high demand. However, the National Bank predicts an improvement in the inflation situation no earlier than spring, and under favorable conditions, food inflation may decrease to 3% by 2026.
