The gas tariff for household consumers has remained unchanged in the past few years.
The National Bank of Ukraine predicts an increase in prices for gas, heating and hot water in 2025. The cost may increase despite the moratorium on raising these tariffs, which is in effect during the war.
In Ukraine, 98% of household consumers receive gas from NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine. The gas tariff for the population of this supplier is 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. Other gas suppliers offer prices from 7.7 to more than 9 UAH per cubic meter of blue fuel.
If gas tariffs for the population are fixed until the end of martial law, then the monthly payment for gas delivery may differ from year to year, regardless of martial law. This payment is calculated separately for each subscriber.
The calculation of the annual ordered capacity – the payment for gas delivery – is carried out on the basis of the actual volume of natural gas consumption – from October 1 to September 30.
However, there is a lower limit of consumption, which is taken for the calculation:
- not less than 39 cubic meters – for consumers with a gas stove
- 126 cubic meters – for consumers with a gas stove and water heater
- 314 cubic meters. m – for consumers with a heating appliance
To determine the monthly cost, this individual volume of used gas is divided into 12 equal parts and multiplied by the tariff for natural gas distribution services set by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities for each Gas Distribution Network Operator.
At the same time, gas distribution tariffs are set by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NCRECU) and depend on the following factors:
- the number of consumers in the region
- the length of gas pipelines
- the cost of their maintenance
