For comparison, the minimum wage in Ukraine is 8,000 hryvnia per month or $190 at the current NBU exchange rate before taxes.
From January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Polandincreased by 366 zlotys to 4,666 zlotys or $1,132 at the current exchange rate per month gross (before taxes).
The minimum hourly wage also increased: from 28 zlotys and 10 groszy to 30 zlotys and 50 groszy per hour, Polskie Radio reports.
For comparison, the minimum wage in Ukraine is 8,000 hryvnia per month or $190 at the current NBU exchange rate (after paying 18% personal income tax and 5% military tax, the employee will receive 6,160 hryvnia “in hand”). That is, the minimum wage in Poland has exceeded the Ukrainian one by six times.
Overall, the minimum wage in Poland has doubled over the past two years. From January 1, 2024, it was PLN 4,242, and from July 1 – PLN 4,300. In 2023, respectively – PLN 3,490 from January 1 and PLN 3,600 from July 1.
As reported, from March, the minimum pension in Poland will increase from the current PLN 1,780.96 gross per month (PLN 1,620.67 net, that is, how much pensioners receive in hand) to PLN 1,884.61 gross (PLN 1,715 net).
Converted at the current hryvnia exchange rate, a Polish pensioner will receive a minimum pension equivalent to UAH 17,551. In Ukraine, the minimum pension is UAH 3,370 per month for people with sufficient years of service and UAH 2,725 for those with insufficient years of service.
Recall that in Ukraine, the average pension as of July 1, 2024, according to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, is UAH 5,816 (EUR 140).
