In order to retire by age, you must meet certain conditions.
Since January of this year, new conditions for retirement by age have come into effect in Ukraine.
This is stated in the law “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”.
Thus, according to the law, from January 1, 2025, to retire at 60 years old, you need 32 years of work experience.
This year, the right to be assigned an old-age pension is available to those who turned 18 in 2025:
- 60 years old – with at least 32 years of insurance experience
- 63 years old – with at least 22 years of insurance experience
- 65 years old – with at least 15 years of insurance experience
An old-age pension is assigned upon the person’s application from the day following the day of reaching retirement age, if the application was made no later than three months from the date of reaching such age.
Ukrainian legislation provides the opportunity to purchase additional experience. The cost of one month is 44% of the minimum wage, which is UAH 3,520. For example, if you have 30 years of work experience, then for the missing year you need to pay an additional 42.2 thousand UAH.
