Teachers will be given additional salary supplements: who will receive how much

The conditions for providing additional payments have been slightly changed.

In Ukraine in 2025, teachers will be able to receive monthly additional payments within the framework of the “Teacher's Additional Payment” project.

This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science.

All teaching staff working in their main position or part-time in schools of different types of general secondary education can receive additional payments – these are primary schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, in particular specialized education, special schools and educational and rehabilitation centers.

However, it is noted that this year the conditions for providing additional payments have been slightly changed.

Teachers of general secondary education institutions of the state and municipal sectors have been granted a monthly additional payment for work in conditions unfavorable to health:

from January 1, 2025 – 1.3 thousand UAH;
from September 2025 until the end of the calendar year, when martial law ends, in the amount of 2.6 thousand UAH.

The amount of the additional payment will be calculated in proportion to the volume of work performed: if the workload is less than the established rate, then the basic amount will be accrued – 1.3 thousand UAH.

the teacher has an academic workload according to the tariff of 18 hours per week, then the additional payment will be equal to 1.3 thousand UAH;
if he has an academic workload according to the tariff of 25 hours/week, then the additional payment will be 1.8 thousand UAH (1.3 thousand/18 * 25);
if the workload according to the tariff is 14 hours/week, that is, less than the rate, then the amount of the additional payment will be 1.3 thousand hryvnia, regardless of the workload;
if the workload according to the tariff is 20 hours/week, and the work is part-time as a teacher in an extended day group at 0.5 of the rate, then the amount of the additional payment will be 1.44 thousand hryvnia (1.3 thousand/18 * 20) as a teacher and 650 hryvnia (1.3 thousand * 0.5) as a teacher;
if the workload according to the tariff is 16 hours/week (less than the rate), and the work is part-time as a teacher in an extended day group at a rate, then the amount of the additional payment will be 1.3 thousand hryvnia as a teacher, regardless of the workload, and 1.3 thousand hryvnia as a teacher.

“The specified additional payment, like other additional payments and allowances, is part of the salary of a teaching staff member, therefore, if a teaching staff member has worked less than a full month (due to illness, vacation), then the amount of the salary is reduced in proportion to the time worked, and accordingly, the amount of the additional payment is also reduced,” the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
