Which pensioners will be able to receive a pension supplement in 2025.
Ukrainian pensioners with an insurance record that exceeds the required minimum can count on additional payments. In 2025, these rules remain in force and are regulated by relevant regulations.
Additional payments for overtime work experience are regulated by the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”, as well as other regulatory legal acts that determine the procedure for calculating pensions.
Required insurance experience in 2025 for an old-age pension
Requirements for the number of years of insurance experience for the right to an old-age pension are increasing annually. From January 1, 2025, the minimum insurance experience for retirement depends on age:
- at 60 years old – you must have 32 years of experience;
- at 63 years old – 22 years of experience;
- at 65 years old — 15 years of service.
If a pensioner has more insurance experience than established by law, he can receive additional payments.
How is overtime service determined?
According to the calculation formula, each additional year of insurance experience gives 1% to the pension from its basic amount. However, the additional payment cannot be more than 1% of the subsistence minimum. It depends on when the person retired:
- For pensioners who retired before October 2011, overtime work experience is calculated from 25 years for men and 20 years for women.
- For those who retired after October 2011, work experience is calculated from 35 years for men and 30 years for women.
Calculation of additional payments for overtime work experience
The additional payment is 1% of the basic pension for each year of overtime work experience. For this, the subsistence minimum established by law is taken into account. In 2025, the subsistence minimum will remain at the level of 2361 hryvnia.
Therefore, each year of overtime work experience will add 23.61 UAH to the pension (2361 × 1%). The maximum additional payment for 30 years of overtime work will be 708 UAH.
What working pensioners need to know
For working pensioners, the additional payment is calculated based on the subsistence minimum in effect at the time the pension was assigned. After dismissal from work, the recalculation is made taking into account the current subsistence minimum.
