The government promises not to increase the cost of electricity for now.
From February 1, new conditions for the use of electricity for heating will be introduced in Ukraine. Now the preferential tariff will be strictly limited to a certain volume of consumption.
This is stated in the material “NP”.
It is noted that for this category the price will be reduced for three months – until April 30, 2025. For 1 kW of electricity you will have to pay 2.64 UAH – this is if the consumption volume per month does not exceed 2000 kW. The tariff for a kilowatt above this norm will be 4.32 UAH/kWh.
This tariff was before. However, there were other conditions. So, if the consumer used 2300 kW, then you automatically had to pay 4.32 for all 2300 kW. Now you will pay 2.64 UAH for 2000 kW, and 4.32 UAH for 300.
Tariff changes are usually made in May, and increases occur in June or July. However, according to Energy Minister German Galushchenko, the ministry is not currently considering raising tariffs. He said that the current tariff allows for balancing the financial market without accumulating debt.
In addition, government sources also explain that tariff increases are unlikely in the near future. In particular, this is due to socio-economic conditions. As for the prospects after the war, experts note the need for a gradual abolition of subsidies for all consumers. In particular, due to the adoption of new rules on PSO, which now obliges suppliers to sell electricity at fixed rates.
If this regulation is cancelled, prices will be formed using a mechanism similar to water tariffs: the calculation of all tariff components will be agreed with the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission. At the same time, officials note that such changes will occur only after the end of the war.
Let us recall by what date Ukrainians need to spend “Zelensky's thousand”. Note that until the end of February, the “Winter e Support” program is in effect, within the framework of which a Ukrainian in the country can receive a thousand hryvnia.
