The size of a judge's pension directly depends on the salary, amounting to 50% to 90% of the salary depending on the length of service.
The costs of pension provision for retired judges in 2024 amounted to approximately 5 billion hryvnia. Currently, the state employs 3,908 judges, of whom 238 resigned over the past year.
This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine and the High Council of Justice in response to a request from Slidstvo.Info journalists.
The amount of payments in previous years was also significant:
- 2023 – UAH 4.4 billion;
- 2022 – UAH 4.1 billion;
- January-April 2024 – UAH 1.1 billion.
The size of a judge's pension directly depends on their salary, amounting to 50% to 90% of the salary depending on their length of service. This is provided for by the legislation of Ukraine, which guarantees lifetime support to retired judges.
Recall that 9% will be deducted from citizens' salaries in order to increase the size of their pensions in the future.
