Teachers will be able to receive their bonuses starting in February.
In Lviv, a thousand teachers will be awarded bonuses every year. School teachers, as well as social educators, practical psychologists, and teacher-organizers of the Lviv community, who have worked for at least one year, will receive an additional 15 thousand hryvnias to their salaries.
This is stated in the message of the Lviv City Council.
Amendments to the resolution “Teachers who inspire”, which was adopted last year, were made on January 30. Therefore, from February 2025, teachers will have the opportunity to receive additional remuneration.
The changes concerned the approval of the bonus amount itself – 15 thousand hryvnias every month for one year. In total, the bonus will be provided for 1000 teachers, so each school will have several awarded teachers.
“We also prescribed in the program the procedure for selecting “inspiring teachers,” said Andriy Zakalyuk, head of the Lviv education department.
How teachers will be selected
According to Andriy Zakalyuk, the selection will take place in three stages.
Who will be able to receive awards
Candidates for awards can be both school teachers and social educators, practical psychologists, teacher-organizers of the Lviv community.
Conditions for teachers:
- work experience of at least one year in the relevant educational institution in the position of teacher at the main place of work;
- weekly workload – not less than 18 hours per week.
For social educators, practical psychologists, and teacher-organizers:
- term of work – not less than one year in the relevant educational institution in the specified position at the main place of work;
- weekly workload – 40 hours per week.
For leaders of extracurricular education institution clubs:
- term of work – not less than one year in the specified institutions at the main place of work;
- weekly workload – not less than 18 hours per week.
Teachers and accompanists of art and music schools of the Lviv city territorial community:
- not less than one year in the specified cultural institutions at the main place of work;
- weekly workload, which in total is not less than 18 hours per week.
It is known that the “Inspiring Teachers” program will be in effect during 2025-2030. Teachers will be selected for the award every year for a period of 12 months.
