Prices for cabbage are significantly higher than a week ago.
Prices for white cabbage have risen in Ukrainian markets and stores. This week, the price is 15% higher than at the end of last week.
This was reported by analysts at the EastFruit portal.
Ukrainian producers offer cabbage for sale at a price of 34-40 UAH per kilogram. This vegetable has again become the most expensive among all the items in the borscht set.
It is noted that by the end of January, many producers sold out most of their cabbage stocks. Also, there are almost no vegetables of medium and low quality left on the market.
“Considering the rapid decline in cabbage stocks in farms, farmers began to restrain sales of quality vegetables. This led to another jump in prices this week,” the publication says.
Currently, prices for white cabbage in Ukraine are on average 3.7 times higher than for the same period last year.
As reported, in Ukraine, the popular citrus fruit has sharply increased in price. Tangerines are supplied from Turkey, Spain, Egypt, Greece and Italy. In January, weather conditions in producing regions significantly complicated the harvest.
