Most Ukrainian employers prefer women when recruiting personnel for vacant positions.
As HR consultant Anna-Maria Sabov explained in a commentary to the We Are Ukraine TV channel, this is due to mobilization rules.
According to her, under conditions of mobilization during martial law, many Ukrainian companies are forced to turn to the services of law firms that help their male employees avoid conscription for military service, in in particular, due to the recognition of the enterprise as critically important.
This is why, says Anna-Maria Sabov, Ukrainian employers prefer to hire women for vacant positions, for which such consultations do not need to be conducted.
“This is a very common practice. Now we could be proud of how gender diverse Ukrainian companies have become, because most employers prefer women,” she emphasized.
Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers obliged employers to facilitate mobilization in Ukraine. Thus, they must hand out summonses to employees and deliver them to the TCC upon request.
