He recalled that the average dollar exchange rate in the 2025 state budget is set at 45 UAH. This indicates that the dollar will continue to rise in price.
“That is, the devaluation of the hryvnia is an ongoing process and I do not see a way back,” Plotnikov said.
According to him, among the factors that will influence the value of the currency are Western aid, which is counted in the state budget, as well as absolute uncertainty regarding the end of the war.
“All this does not indicate that there may be reverse movements. That is, the dollar is becoming more expensive, the hryvnia is depreciating. I think that these processes will continue. Perhaps it will be in leaps and bounds, perhaps it will not be slow, but in principle this is a movement in one direction,” the expert believes.
Recall that the chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Getmantsev, reported when the euro may begin to circulate in Ukraine. He emphasized that it is too early to say before 2035.
