It became known how teachers' salaries have changed over three years

There has been a significant decline in salaries in education and art.

The salaries of Ukrainians in 2024 have undergone significant changes compared to 2021, according to the National Bank. In some industries, there has been a significant financial increase, but these changes did not affect teachers.

This was reported by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Getmantsev, citing data from the National Bank.

In 2024, real wages in Ukraine increased by 14.4%, which is a significant improvement compared to last year (+3.7%) and a drop of 11.4% in 2022. Getmantsev noted that the growth is due to a shortage of personnel in many areas. Salaries in most industries have exceeded pre-war levels. In the 3rd quarter of 2024, real wages on average in the economy exceeded the level of the same period in 2021 by 7.2%.

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2024 to the 3rd quarter of 2021, wages especially increased in the IT sector (+45.5%), trade (+32.3%) and finance (+22.6%), hotels and restaurants (+21.4%).

“For 2025, the NBU predicts a significant slowdown in the growth of real wages to +3.8% under the influence of higher average inflation (12.4% in 2025 versus 6.5% in 2024) and further normalization of the labor market (reduction in unemployment and structural imbalances in it, but the latter will still remain at levels above pre-war indicators),” the MP noted.

According to estimates by the National Bank of Ukraine, over the past three years, real wages in education have decreased by 14.8%, and in the arts – by 10.1%.
