Photo The National Bank of Ukraine has introduced into circulation a new commemorative coin “Zodiac” with a face value of 10 hryvnia, symbolizing the eternal connection between man and the universe.
The NBU reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
The new coin is made of 925 silver, the mass of the pure precious metal reaches 31.1 g.
The reverse of the coin depicts a picturesque Ukrainian village under the starry sky and a boy enthusiastically observing the constellations. The image of the child conveys a sense of dreaminess, a desire for knowledge and a connection with his home. The evening landscape creates an atmosphere of calm and harmony, recalling warm moments of childhood.
The obverse depicts 12 zodiac constellations, united by a circle and divided into 12 equal sectors, astrological signs and names. The zodiac signs are arranged counterclockwise in accordance with the movement of the earth's axis, which symbolizes the continuous movement of celestial bodies and the cyclical nature of time.
The coin will be released in a circulation of up to 15 thousand pieces. It will be possible to buy it through the online store of numismatic products of the NBU and distributing banks from March 4 of this year. The sale will be made as soon as the banknote and mint of the National Bank ships it.
As reported by Ukrinform, for the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the National Bank issued a commemorative coin “Hold the Line!”
