An agricultural expert explained the reasons for the rise in prices.
Three popular products will become more expensive by Easter, which Ukrainians will celebrate on April 20. Prices will jump for eggs, meat and milk.
The deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, Denis Marchuk, told details about the rising prices of products, writes “Glavred”.

The expert explained what exactly influences the price increase. According to him, before Easter, due to various factors, three products popular among Ukrainians will become more expensive, namely:
- eggs,
- meat,
- milk
As Denis Marchuk noted, during the pre-Easter period, as a rule, the demand for eggs increases, which has already begun to affect their cost.
“After a slight drop in prices in February, prices went up again. This was due to the cold winter, which led to an increase in the cost of heating production facilities. Feed also became more expensive due to the rise in grain prices,” he explained.
Prices were also affected by rising labor costs. The labor shortage is forcing manufacturers to introduce automation, which requires significant investment, and this also affects the final cost of the product.
“Although prices for dairy products have decreased, they continue to rise in retail chains. The reasons are the same: a shortage of labor, high costs of feed and energy,” Marchuk said.
The expert warned that meat prices, including beef and pork, may go up. And although meat prices are relatively stable now, they may go up on the eve of Easter and the May holidays, when demand traditionally increases.
“However, it is difficult to predict exactly, since the meat market is unstable: purchase prices fluctuate weekly,” he explained.
Let us recall that food prices, especially vegetables, have been rising in Ukraine for several weeks now. In particular, there has been an increase in upward price trends.
