Exclusive The new loan program for the European Union within the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) initiative opens up a lot of opportunities for Ukraine.
EU Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius said this in a comment to Ukrinform.
“The new program for the European Union, one hundred percent of the so-called safe positions, opens up a lot of possibilities. 150 billion euros in the EU budget for member states can be used by them in order to work together with Ukraine, in Ukraine – for Ukraine and its army. I’m confident that the stinks (of the EU – ed.) are rapidly growing due to their potential,” he said.
According to the words of the European Commissioner, this opens up new possibilities, and the provision of loans is even more attractive. “I think that this could actually be even worse for the security of Ukraine,” said Kubilius.
He explained that the EU countries can create production in Ukraine and place defense agreements for all types of equipment that our country will require. Moreover, it is possible to work simply at once, without worrying about the fire.
Zokrema, we are talking about the production of ammunition. The White Book of European Defense states that the EU plans to supply Ukraine with 2 million rounds of ammunition soon, the European Commissioner said.
“We can marvel at our efforts to increase them. We are also really wondering how Ukrainian agricultural efforts can be more widely used for the production of crops that Ukraine needs,” Kubilus, respecting this context.
In Berlin, he presented the White Book and took part in a panel discussion organized by the think tank Liberale Moderne. At this point, the politician said that a just world is only possible through force. And Ukraine is taking power away from its partners. With this, Europe is sending “strong signals not only to Moscow, but to Washington” that they stand on the battlefield of Ukraine, supporting its recovery.
