Decentralization of the system of small vegetable production in the front-line territories, especially in the Mykolayiv and Kherson regions, will help farmers save their crops.
Having informed about this, the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval immediately conferred with representatives of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), transmits to Ukrinform with messages sent to Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
“The Rozbudov vegetable production system is committed to the development of small businesses and the security of the status of rural areas. Therefore, we now begin with the active implementation of the vegetable production project. Small vegetables – from 20 tons to 1000 tons would help the farmer save his goods and keep them at the best price. Among the great ones, farmers and companies that purchase food products for universities, hospitals and supermarkets can save their goods by 2000 tons and more,” said Vitaliy Koval.
In his words, such an approach will make it possible to create the first farmer cooperation on this basis. The Minister noted that the decentralization of the system of small vegetable production in the front-line territories, Mykolayiv and Kherson regions, will help farmers save their crops.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the manufacturing process of the production process with FAO, and also identified the key priorities of FAO’s activities.

The Minister thanked FAO representatives for the stable support of the Ukrainian agri-food sector, crop farming, for the provision of grain hoses for crop conservation, as well as for modular grain harvesters and generators.
Koval noted that the next stage of assistance to farmers has begun – the implementation of a comprehensive project for the generation of electricity from agrobiomass.
As reported, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food estimates the total additional demand for vegetables at 340 thousand tons.
