The Chinese automobile giant is investing 1 billion dollars in an electric vehicle production plant in Samsun, on the Black Sea coast of Turecchini.
Ukrinform informs about this in a message sent to Hürriyet.
“This investment is transferred to the creation of a plant for the production of hybrid vehicles with electric and rechargeable batteries with a total capacity of 150 thousand vehicles and a research and development center “sustainable mobility technology,” the publication informs.
The enterprise, which is likely to launch production in 2026, will provide immediate employment for up to 5 thousand people. The current production volume of electric vehicles and new generation spare parts in stock is 200 thousand.
As reported by Ukrinform, recently the Chinese automaker BYD and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey signed an investment agreement worth up to $1 billion for the establishment of their brand in Turechchini.
