The IMF Council praised the seventh review of programs for Ukraine for $400 million

The Ministry of the International Monetary Fund praised Ukraine's final vision of funds – amounting to 400 million dollars.

As Ukrinform reports, the IMF press service was informed about this.

“The Council of the new Directors of the International Monetary Fund completed its seventh review of programs within the framework of the expanded financing mechanism, which will allow us to see $0.4 billion,” the statement reads.

It is indicated that these funds will be seen in the budgetary support of Ukraine: “With the settlement of this tranche, the amount of funds seen by the IMF within the framework of the program is $10.1 billion.”

The IMF noted that the Ukrainian economy “is losing its headwinds, and the indicators within the framework of the expanded financing mechanism are high, as a rule.”

“Continuation of reforms, progress in domestic revenue mobilization, as well as the ongoing need for external assistance throughout the program are necessary to preserve macroeconomic stability, “updating fiscal and regulatory stability and reducing administration,” said the financial institution.

In his statement, as the Cabinet informs, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko noted that Ukraine is withdrawing a tranche of approximately 400 million US dollars in the near future. “Thank you to the International Monetary Fund for the support and expertise that allows us to strengthen the economic and financial stability of Ukraine. We will continue to work on the implementation of comprehensive reforms,” he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Mission of the International Monetary Fund finally held discussions in Kiev to review its Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.

In just two years, Ukraine has successfully completed six revisions – the first in the history of cooperation with the IMF. This allowed the state budget to receive nearly $9.8 billion from the transfer program for 2023-2027 of $15.5 billion.

In 2025, it is planned to receive $2.7 billion from the IMF based on the results of four quarterly reviews.
