US President Donald Trump was upset that China had imposed tariffs on Washington, and threatened to introduce additional measures against China if Beijing did not pay back the money.
Having written about this on Monday at the social network Truth Social, Ukrinform reports.
“Yesterday, China imposed tariffs of 34% on the economy, adding to record tariffs, non-monetary tariffs, illegal subsidies to companies and massive long-term currency manipulation,” Trump wrote.
He emphasized what happened “in the wake of his advance”, so that if the country wants to take revenge on the United States for the introduced tariffs, “it is sure to introduce new, higher tariff rates in addition to the quiet ones that were installed on the cob.”
Also, according to Trump’s words, China does not pay off its 34% of the tax until Tuesday, the 8th quarter, “The United States has received additional tariffs against China in the amount of 50% already from the 9th quarter.”
He also said that all negotiations with China between these questions will be held in private.
“Negotiations with other countries, which have also been subject to rumors about sustriches, will end soon,” said the US President.
As reported by Ukrinform, last month the US President imposed additional tariffs of 34% on Chinese goods, as a result of which the illegal duty on Chinese products reached 54%. Trump also closed the “trade loophole” that allowed cheap shipments from China to quickly reach the United States.
This resulted from the introduction of 34% taxes on all American goods and restrictions on the export of certain rare earth elements.
