Liberalization of essential transport between Ukraine and the European Union has been officially extended until 31 June 2025.
As reported by Ukrinform, Deputy Prime Minister for the Renewal of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba reported on Facebook.
In his words, this automatic continuation became possible due to the clear and beneficial work of the team of Ukraine and the European Commission.
During the period of “transport free-of-charge”, there was an increase in exports by motor transport to the EU by 42% and an increase in imports by roads by 37%.
Also, with the constant liberalization of essential transport, a stable flow of goods will be created in the minds of war.
“Transportation by road has become vitally important for the economy of Ukraine. We export goods with the required quality, we import everything that is necessary – and quickly and efficiently,” the vice-president emphasized. by thanking European partners for their expertise, and Ukrainian carriers for their reliability.
As reported by Ukrinform, at the end of 2024, Ukraine and the European Union continued their agreement on the liberalization of important transport.
It makes it possible to conclude bilateral and transit essential transportation without the need to revoke permissions. In addition to the extension and update of the document, there are low requirements for both Ukrainian and European carriers.
At the beginning of 2025, participants in the third meeting of the Ugodi Assembly Committee on the liberalization of important transport from the EU praised a number of important decisions regarding “transport freedom”.
