In the Zhytomyr region, wind power generating units with a capacity of 250 megawatts will be installed.
The head of the OBA, Vitaly Bunechko, informed the Ukrinform correspondent about this at the session of the Zhytomyr region.
“The boundaries of the divided generation in the Zhytomyr region are being awakened. Recently, the region's energy-generating needs were supplemented with nearly 20 gas turbine stations in cooperation with USAID and business. It is planned to install wind generating plants with a capacity of 250 MW, which will significantly increase the share of renewable energy in the region,” said Bunechko.
In other words, 19 commercial units have already been installed in the region, with a maximum of 1.5 thousand. private sleepy power plants.
What is also troubling is the transition of the objects of the housing and communal dominion of the Zhytomyr region to alternative types of burning. Zokrema, at least 60% of the boiler room, which ensures heat supply to the population, budgetary installations and other residents, is transferred to alternative heating.
As reported by Ukrinform, 13 large wind turbines with a power output of 27 MW were put into operation in Ukraine in 2024.
