In 2023, more than UAH 10.3 billion was transferred from a special account opened by the National Bank for the needs of the defense forces, of which UAH 2.7 billion was transferred in December. This was reported by the NBU press service.

In total, more than UAH 11.1 billion in equivalent, including almost UAH 3.3 billion in December. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, almost 34.7 billion UAH have been deposited into the account.
The funds have come from both citizens and enterprises of Ukraine, and from the international community. In particular, almost 15.6 billion UAH in equivalent came from abroad.
In general, the National Bank transferred more than 32.7 billion UAH from the special account for defense needs. In particular:
- for the needs of the National Guard – UAH 1.41 billion; for the needs of the National Police – UAH 1.65 billion; for the needs of the State Border Service – more than UAH 1 billion; for the needs of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection – more than UAH 5.5 billion; for the needs of the State Service for Emergency Situations – more than 156 million UAH; for the needs of the National Security and Defense Council – UAH 40.5 million; for the needs of the State Special Transport Service – more than 207.5 million UAH; for the needs of the Security Service – more than 328 million UAH.
