The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed borrowers to suspend mortgage payments. However, this is possible if the property is destroyed or damaged as a result of armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and is also located in a zone of active hostilities or in temporarily occupied territory. This was reported by the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmitry Lubinets.
The government has made appropriate changes to Resolution No. 473 dated April 19, 2022. The borrower can suspend payment of the loan principal, interest, commissions and others payments under a consumer loan agreement.
How to obtain permission not to pay a mortgage
To do this, the borrower must contact the bank. This fact can now be confirmed by an act and a technical inspection report.
