In 2023, 450.1 billion UAH were allocated from the state budget for social payments, including 41.6 billion UAH in December. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

Where did the money go?
271.8 billion UAH, of which 22.7 in December UAH billion – for financial support for the payment of pensions, bonuses and increases to pensions assigned under pension programs and the deficit of the Pension Fund;
- 102.8 billion UAH, of which in December – 8.8 billion UAH – for social protection of citizens who find themselves in difficult life circumstances; 47.6 billion UAH, of which in December – 7.8 billion UAH – to support low-income families and provide benefits and housing subsidies to citizens; UAH 24.2 billion, of which UAH 2.0 billion in December was for social protection of children and families; 3.6 billion UAH, of which in December – 0.3 billion UAH – for social protection of persons with disabilities; 0.5 billion UAH – for the health and recreation of children who need special attention.
Last year, more than 5 million people received social payments, scholarships, and compensation, including internally displaced persons, families with children, low-income families, families in difficult life circumstances, citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
According to Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Ermolichev, in 2023 the government fully ensured the fulfillment of social obligations to citizens through international donor assistance.
Expenditures for 2024
This year, UAH 469.4 billion was allocated for the social protection of citizens, which is UAH 8.7 billion more than in 2023.
