The number of participants in the non-bank financial market in January decreased from 1120 (as of December 31, 2023) to 1058 (as of January 31, 2024), the number of banks remained unchanged – 63. This is stated in the NBU data.

Who was excluded from the list
58 participants in the non-banking financial services market were forcibly excluded from the registers: 29 financial companies, two insurers, 21 pawn shops and six leasing companies. Two financial companies, four credit unions and one leasing company were excluded from the registers at the initiative of the applicant. At the same time, three insurance brokers are included in the register.
During January, six financial companies, three pawnshops, four credit unions and three leasing companies had all their licenses canceled voluntarily (based on the applications they submitted), and another insurer had their licenses revoked involuntarily (as a measure of influence). Two financial companies had some of their existing licenses canceled on their initiative.
Who works in the market
As of January 31, 528 financial companies were operating in the non-banking market (in December there were 559), 87 non-life insurers (was 89), 12 life insurers (the number has not changed), one insurer with a special status, 125 pawnshops (was 146), 129 credit unions (was 133), 69 leasing companies (was 76), 36 insurance brokers (was 33 ), 71 collection companies (the number has not changed).
In addition, 19 banking groups (the number has not changed) and 20 non-banking groups (the number has not changed) are recognized on the market.
There are 19 payment systems created by residents in the payment market, including state-owned ones (from 21), and 16 international payment systems created by non-residents (the number has not changed). The cancellation of registration of two payment systems occurred at the request of the operators of these payment systems (i.e. voluntarily).
In addition, there are providers of financial payment services on the market, including 19 payment institutions (the number has not changed), 11 financial institutions entitled to provide payment services (the number has not changed), one bank is an issuer of electronic money (the number has not changed) and one postal operator (the number has not changed).
Other entities operating on payment market, includes 34 commercial agents (from 36) and 35 technological operators of payment services (the number has not changed).
