In terms of the volume of Ukrainian exports, Spain is almost equal to Poland, which in January of this year remained Ukraine’s largest export partner, despite the border blockade. This was announced by the head of the Council's financial committee, Daniil Getmantsev.

“I would like to draw attention to the growing weight of Spain in exports, which in January of this year, it almost caught up with Poland as destination No. 1. The weight of this country began to increase after the introduction of an embargo on agricultural products by neighboring EU countries,” the people’s deputy wrote.
By the end of 2023, he noted, Spain is together with Germany took fifth place in terms of the volume of Ukrainian exports, and the positive balance of trade with it reached $1.12 billion, which was the second best result after Romania.
“The balance of foreign trade in goods of Poland with us was and remains deep positive for the Poles (+0.24 billion dollars in January 2024), so the mirror restrictive actions of our farmers and producers will have a very negative effect for Polish producers,” added the politician.
