According to the World Bank, losses in the culture and tourism sector of Ukraine, including lost income, amounted to $19.6 billion. These are estimates from those territories controlled by Ukraine and which were de-occupied. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal stated this at the conference “United for Justice. United for the sake of preserving cultural heritage.”

Shmygal added that long-term restoration of the damaged and destroyed, $8.9 billion is needed.
According to him, all cultural heritage sites damaged as a result of Russian aggression will be included in a special state register to determine the amount of compensation from Russia.
