Annual inflation in March 2024 fell to 3.2%. This is the lowest level since October 2020, when annual inflation was 2.6%. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service.

According to state statistics, in March consumer prices increased by 0.5% (compared to February 2024), from the beginning of the year – by 1.2% (by December 2023).
How prices have changed
In the consumer market in March, prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks decreased by 0.2%. Eggs fell in price the most (by 16.4%). Prices for sugar, lard, pork, sunflower oil, processed grain products, vegetables, milk decreased by 2.5-0.3%.
At the same time, prices for fruits increased by 4.1%, Prices for beef, dairy products, butter, poultry, bread, soft drinks, and pasta increased by 1.6−0.3%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 0.4%, which is associated with an increase in the price of tobacco products by 1.3%.
Clothing and footwear increased in price by 12.9%, including clothing – by 13.3%, shoes – by 12.5%.
Prices for transport increased by 1.7%, mainly due to an increase in prices for railway passenger transport by 4.4% and fuel and lubricants oils by 2.7%.
In the communications sector, prices increased by 0.5%, which is due to an increase in tariffs for local telephone communications by 15.7%.
