According to the billionaire, collecting a small fee from new accounts is “the only way” to stop the “surge of bots.”
“Modern artificial intelligence (and troll farms) can easily pass the “are you a bot” check,” the businessman wrote, referring to tools such as CAPTCHA.
Musk added that without paying a fee, new users will be able to publish posts three months after creating accounts.
As is the case with many announcements associated with the social platform, there are no details yet about that when this policy will be applied and what fees new users will have to pay.
