By the closing of the interbank market, the dollar exchange rate increased by 29 kopecks in purchases and by 30 kopecks in sales. The euro increased by 38 kopecks in purchases and by 39 kopecks in sales.

On the cash market, hryvnia quotes to the dollar are 39.50−39.99 UAH Euros are bought for 42.30 UAH, and sold for 42.99 UAH.
In exchange offices, the dollar is traded for 40.00-40.10, the euro – 42.95-43.11 UAH.

Commentary from the Ministry of Finance on interbank trading
The rapid growth of the dollar and euro is associated with an active excess demand for currency from large importers of petroleum products, energy components and other goods strategically important for the country.

One of the main sellers on the market today was the National Bank, although it did not offer significant resistance to the growth of the rate, which led to its growth at the end of the day to almost 40 hryvnia per dollar.
