A Lithuanian-registered car export company has been fined €13.6 million for violating international sanctions. This was reported by LRT, citing data from Lithuanian customs.

According to the customs authority, six semi-trailers for trucks were detained and confiscated.
The customs authority did not name the company, which was fined.
It is reported that the company failed to ensure compliance with international sanctions imposed in Lithuania when concluding agreements with companies from Kazakhstan, Belarus and Turkey. As a result, the transportation of the detained vehicles was recognized as a violation of sanctions.
This is not the first case in which companies have been subjected to such measures for violating the law on international sanctions after the introduction of enhanced inspections by Lithuanian customs.
