The Government of Canada has contributed an additional 33.4 million euros (50 million Canadian dollars) to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. The country's total contribution to the Fund has increased to 40.1 million euros (60 million Canadian dollars), the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported.

Canada also declared a future contribution to the Fund in the amount of 6.7 million euros (10 million Canadian dollars).
It is noted that part of Canada's new contribution will be directed towards supporting the energy supply of critical social infrastructure in the healthcare sector through the development of solar generation.
“We thank Canada for its continued support of the Ukrainian energy sector since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion,” said Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.
According to him, contributions to the Energy Support Fund are directed towards purchasing equipment necessary to restore energy facilities after enemy attacks and to support the stable operation of Ukraine’s energy system.

The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was established in April 2022 under the Secretariat of the Energy Community.
Partners' pledged contributions to the Fund amount to more than €1 billion. The Fund's donors include the public and private sectors from more than 30 countries, including EU member states, the UK and the US, as well as international and regional organisations.
