Ukrainian exports fell by more than 10% in January

In January 2025, Ukraine exported goods worth $3.18 billion, which is 11.5% less than in January 2024. At the same time, imports increased by 8.2% and amounted to $5.5 billion. This was reported by the State Statistics Service, UkrNorm reports.

What is known

It is noted that the negative balance of foreign trade in the first month of the year reached $2.33 billion, while last year this figure was $1.5 billion. The import-export coverage ratio decreased to 0.58 (last year – 0.71).

Among the categories that grew, electric machines stand out (+13.1%). At the same time, Ukraine reduced supplies of ferrous metals by 20.2%, grains by 17.4%, fats and oils by 8.5%.

Imports grew mainly in terms of electrical machines (+80.9%) and energy resources, including oil and its refined products (+20.7%).
