Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, Chief of the General Staff Sergei Shaptala during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence noted the need to improve the mobilization policy.
Roman Kostenko noted that the discussion of the government bill is currently ongoing and will continue for several more days. According to him, parliamentarians and ministers are working in detail on each provision of the document, expressing their proposals for their improvement.
The people's deputy clarified that there may be three options for further advancing the consideration of the bill:< /p>
— voting in the first reading in the session hall and revision for the second reading at the committee level;
— development in the committee of its version for the first reading;
— voting for sending the submitted bill for revision to the subject of the legislative initiative, that is, the Cabinet of Ministers.
In this context, he noted that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine supports the first option and insists on promptly making a decision on the relevant project.
