American actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived in Munich on January 17, from where he planned to fly to Kitzbühel, Austria for the World Climate Summit. However, he was detained during customs inspection.

It is reported that the movie star was held in police custody at the airport for several hours. As it turned out, Schwarzenegger's problems arose due to the fact that during a random check, a watch from the Swiss company Audemars Piguet was found on him.

The 76-year-old actor said that he planned to sell it at auction before the summit. Munich customs spokesman Thomas Meister confirmed that Schwarzenegger had been investigated for tax evasion. He stressed that the movie star should have declared the watch, “because it was an import.”

It subsequently became known that Schwarzenegger was released. However, the actor must pay a fine of 35 thousand euros.
