As part of the SBU operation to suppress illegal activities, a colonel of one of the departments of the Armed Forces Support Forces Command and the general director of an enterprise involved in the supply of goods for defense were detained.
According to the investigation, Colonel conspired with a businessman in 2023 and entered into an agreement to purchase goods for defense needs with public money in the amount of more than 36 million hryvnia. According to investigators, the corrupt colonel intended to receive a bribe from an accomplice in the amount of 45 thousand dollars for this.
The accomplices were caught red-handed when the businessman handed over to the colonel the first part of the bribe in the amount of 14.6 thousand dollars, which is 550,420 thousand hryvnia.
As part of the searches that were carried out in the homes and workplaces of those involved in the case, SBU officers seized documentation proving the existence of a criminal scheme.
