Regarding the war in Ukraine, the Chinese side «will promote negotiations and peace» and «will not add fuel to the fire». Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made this statement at a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba.
According to Wang Yi, the PRC is not taking advantage of the war in Ukraine and is not supplying Moscow with lethal weapons. The head of Chinese diplomacy added that China will not give up its efforts aimed at “ending the war as soon as possible, even if there is only a glimmer of hope for peace.”
Note that Kuleba and Wang Yi held a meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. According to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the ministers discussed Ukrainian-Chinese relations, as well as the establishment of a just peace in Ukraine.
The heads of foreign affairs agencies agreed to maintain contacts between the two countries at all levels and continue the dialogue.
