According to a study by German scientists, it was found that diet has a significant impact on the condition of blood vessels. 94 people took part in the experiment. They were divided into three groups, and each of them was prescribed a personal diet.
The first group was fed plant foods, the second group did not limit itself in anything, in particular in eating meat. And participants from the third group consumed protein from animal foods, but in strictly limited quantities — 50 grams per day.
As it turned out at the end of the program, it was the participants from the third group who had the best results in assessing the functioning of the cardiovascular system. This diet is called — flexitarian, but simply — flexible diet.
“Its composition, in addition to the mentioned 50 g of meat per day, included vegetables, fruits, and dairy products. In this case, fish and eggs are included in the diet no more than three times a week. The diet increased the elasticity of blood vessels, and at the same time reduced the level of bad cholesterol in the blood,” the scientists reported.
