NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence that Ukraine, having received F-16 fighters from its allies, will have the right to special self-defense.
This information was reported by Donpress, reports URA-Inform.
As it turned out, Stoltenberg turned on the possibility of striking the legitimate military goals of the Russian Federation outside its territory.
NATO Secretary General noted that the exact date for the delivery of fighter jets to Ukraine has not yet been established, since this is an issue that will be decided by the allies. However, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into the territory of Ukraine, the Ukrainian armed forces needed such fighters.
At the same time, the head of NATO emphasized that the decision to use military means is made in accordance with international law and in the event of action in self-defense.
He also said that NATO will continue to support Ukraine in its quest for self-defense and protection of its territorial integrity.
In addition, Stoltenberg expressed hope for a diplomatic resolution of the conflict and called on Russia to comply with international law and stop aggressive actions against Ukraine.
