In Ukraine, indexation of pensions will take place from March 1, 2024.
About this Shmygal reported the information, URA-Inform reports.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal emphasized at a government meeting on February 23 that this is already the third indexation during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to him, payments to Ukrainian pensioners will be increased by almost 8%.
«Pensions will be increased by almost 8%. The average increase will be 322 hryvnia, and the average pension will increase to 5,717 hryvnia», — the Prime Minister informed.
Shmygal noted that indexation will affect more than 10 million Ukrainians:
— 9.5 million civil pensioners;
— almost 600 thousand pensioners of law enforcement agencies;
— almost 100 thousand Chernobyl victims.
In addition, Shmygal said that from April 1 there will be an automatic recalculation of pensions for 654 thousand working pensioners, taking into account the updated insurance period.
«Also in 2024, for the second time in a row, the lowest pensions will be indexed», — summed up the head of government.
